Winter Braided Scarf, by Samildanah.

WINTER BRAIDED SCARF

This is a super-easy project, you can make it in two evenings, watch movies on TV. It's good for beginners
wanting to learn how to knit braids. This was actually my first cable project. You'll end up with a very warm,
very bulky and short scarf, perfect for cold winter days. It's more about being comfortable than stylish!

NEED:

1. Needles: European 15mm or above.

2. Bulky or Superbulky wheight yarn. I used 4 skeins of Katia Fabula (nº92 color scheme), 100%
Merino Wool. 152 yards of yarn.
3. Spare Needle, crochet hook for finishing.

ABREVIATIONS.

K: Knit.
P: Purl.
St: stich.
Sn: spare needle
RS: Right Side.
WS: Wrong (or back) Side.

SCARF.

Start casting 19 stiches (yes, it's a narrow scarf, the bulkyness of the yarn makes it bigger).

• Row 01 (RS): P1, K4, P1, K9, P1, K4, P1.

• Row 02 (WS): K1, P4, K1, P9, K1, P4, K1.
• *Row 03 (RS): P1, K4, P1, pass 3 st to sn and leave in the front side of work, K3, pass sn sts to left
needle and knit them, K3, P1, K4, P1.
• Row 04 (WS): K1, P4, K1, P9, K1, P4, K1.
• Row 05 (RS): P1, K4, P1, K3, pass 3 st to sn and leave in the back side of work, K3, pass sn sts to
left needle and knit them, P1, K4, P1.
• Row 06 (WS): K1, P4, K1, P9, K1, P4, K1.*
• Repeat form * to* (Rows 03-06) as many times as you need, this will create the braid.
• Last two Rows:
◦ Last 01 Row: P1, K4, P1, K9, P1, K4, P1.
◦ Last 02 Row: K1, P4, K1, P9, K1, P4, K1.
• Bind of with your usual method.
