Concept Proposal - Wednesday March 21, 2007

Submitted By T. Wayne Gatewood” THE BUILDER” & David Yorka

Overview
In the past decade Wayne and I have spent hundreds of hours doing action research
on the best methods of increasing the quality of lifestyle of students and employees
living lives without passion or purpose.

While creating programs, reading, attending trainings, seminars, presenting; under

the guidance of a dream team of Career Formation advisors (business owners,
Human Resource professionals, academics, and career and guidance counselors.)

In response to our phone conference I gathered materials that are a small sample of
the material discovered and uncovered. The core concepts of the work are Vocational
Identity and Career Formation tools based on Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple
Intelligences. There are additional concepts that make up the foundation of this
shared Vision and the mantra that guides the work “Keeping the Vision Visible.”

Materials for review

I attached several samples of documents that represent a snapshot of materials that
are a product of a powerful partnership and a large diverse network of thought
leaders committed to change.

In addition to this introduction I included the following for your review:

• Description and data on our young men, disconnected from the learning
environments
• Course overview for curriculum on Career Exploration 2.0
• Thesis statement that defines Vocational I.D. and part of the systemic barrier
to change
• Part of a traditional and a non-traditional evaluation tool (SCANS test and M.I
Stars)

Key Questions:

1. What is the unique identity of Columbus, Ohio that makes it fertile

ground for a new market for events, products and services?

2. What core networks are critical to support the marketing plan for a
launch?

3. What are the next steps to find a common place of shared mission,
resources and commitment?
