Reefer Cargo Temperature Recording

• Reefer containers require special care after


they are loaded on board ship. These
containers need to be supplied with power,
monitored closely for proper function and
repaired as required in case of malfunction.

• A Partlow recorder registers temperature on a


pressure sensitive circular chart over 31 day
period.

• The recorder and chart are installed in the


reefer container. A new chart is inserted at
the time of stuffing the container.

Reefer Cargo Temperature Recording

• The data of the status of a reefer container can be


continuously and automatically monitored remotely
through a lead provided with the power cable of the
reefer container.

• Despite the information obtained through a data logger,


manual checks on the temperature maintained are carried
out daily and recorded in a register.

• Any malfunction is attended by the engineer in charge


and a report is made and transmitted to the container
receivers agency. Follow-up reports are made till the
container is functioning normally or till the container is
discharged.
