Onychomycosis is a debilitating disease that brings with it a negative impact on quality of life.

Treatment for
requires compliance of the patient to antifungal medications that often have undesirable costs and side
effects. An alternative method of treament has been taken to account due to its effictiveness on treating
chronic nail fungal infection less side effects and cheaper cost. Our research wants to prove the efficacy of
Vicks Vaporub used topically through randomized controlled trials for treatment of chronic nail fungal
infection.

Efficacy of Vicks Vaporub in treating Onychomycosis: A Randomized

Controlled Trial
Population: Patients diagnosed with fungal nail infections or onychomycosis
using KOH test
Intervention: control- conventional drug for treating fungal infection +
antifungal topical cream
Experimental- conventional drug for treating fungal infection + VICKS Vaporub
Outcome: Alternative hypothesis: Vicks vaporub has significant effect in
treating onychomycosis
Null Hypothesis: Vicks Vaporub has no significant effect in treating
onychomycosis
