Identifying a new geographical market to export wines

 15 December, 2010

Following the meeting held by the General Manager on the 10th December, we have

been entrusted with the task to identify a new geographical market to export our wines.

Mr. Fava and I both agreed that by exporting Maltese wines, the company will hopefully
benefit from the following:

O Increases sales and profit through new contacts

O perating in two different markets, would help to offset fluctuations in the local
market
O Increase Production Capacity ʹ It is a fact that our firm has grown over the years.
It has one of the best technologies in making wine and has enough labour and
capital. However, it is still not operating to its full potential, it has spare capacity.
Thus, we can use this extra capacity to produce more bottles of wine and selling
them to established countries.
O By exporting we would also be helping the Maltese economy since this will
narrow the gap between exports and imports.
This company is depending on us to find the best market/s to export our wines. I will be
delegating some of the work to be accomplished to the most experienced researchers in our
department, namely Ms. Christina Gantt and Mr. Anthony Portelli. Ms. Gantt main tasks are to;
find markets which have an increasing demand for wine and countries where the quality of wine
is given great importance.

n the other hand, Mr. Portelli would be searching for markets that have the euro as their
currency or those countries that have a stable exchange rate.

Please note that the mentioned workers are to start their research instantly, since we are
expected to hand on the report by not later than 17th January, 2011. Should you require further
information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
