SYNTAX’11 HISTORY COLLEGE
ABOUT COLLEGE
The Bapatla Engineering College(Autonomous), one
of the seven educational institutions established by the Bap-
atla Education Society( established in the year 1962 Regd No:
58/1962) in 1981 with a vision to impart quality education and
is first affiliated to Andhra University and later to Acharya Na-
garjuna University from 1984 onwards.
This College is one of the few Colleges out of 570+ En-
gineering Colleges in Andhra Pradesh, which is accredited by
the National Board of Accreditation( NBA ) of All India Coun-
cil for Technical Education( AICTE ), New Delhi. The six B.Tech.
courses which are accredited twice are Civil, CSE, ECE, EEE, EIE
& Mechanical. Apart from the above three more B.Tech courses
namely IT, Bio-Technology and Chemical Engineering are also
accredited recently.
The College was conferred with Autonomous Status by
the University Grants Commission, New Delhi and is affiliated
to Acharya Nagarjuna University from the academic year 2010-
2011.
The Institution of Engineers( India) accredited nine B.Tech. programs offered by the college based
on the recommendations of the six member sub-committee of senior Professors from IISc, Bangalore
constituted by it. Further, the Ministry of Surface Transport had recognized Mechanical Engineering
Course of the College. In addition to this, the college is also registered with Dept. of Scientific & Indus-
trial Research for the purpose of availing Customs duty exemption. The college is selected as a Network
Institute for the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program( TEQIP) of the Ministry of Human
Resources Development and the World Bank. The college has been selected by the famous MNCs like
Microsoft and Bosch to establish their research centers with their own capital investment. The college
sustains the pride of getting its students placed in several MNC’s regarding placements ’10.
The college also offers five M. Tech Courses, namely (1) ‘CAD/CAM’ specialization in Mechanical
Department, (2) ‘COMMUNICATIONS & SIGNAL PROCESSING’ in ECE Department, and (3) ‘COMPUTER
SCIENCE & ENGINEERING.’ in CSE Department, (4) ‘POWER SYSTEMS ’ specialization in EEE Department
and (5) ‘STRUCTURES’ specialization in Civil Department. Apart from the above courses in Engineering,
the College offers six P.G. Courses namely M.Sc.(Mathematics), M.Sc.(electronics), M.Sc.(Computer Sci-
ences), M.Sc.(Chemistry), M.Sc.(Physics) and MCA with a total intake of 330. From the academic year
2009-2010, the Polytechnic course is being offered in the second shift with an intake of 180.
We feel very grateful about our college as it provides the wills and trusts to handle most of our
problems adequately.

Every year from Bapatla Engineering College nearly 1200 students pass out with their graduation .In
the same Bapatla there are about 2000 child labour.
“Give me seven dedicated persons I will change the world “said by a famous socialist Swami Vive-
kananda .By taking these words as inspiration, there was a thought that, can’t 1200 students change the
destiny of atleast 200 children out of 2000? This thought was implemented by few of our students in the
form of SAC, Students Action Committee.
2) It had been successfully running a hostel since three years for the children.
3) It also takes care of the health problems of the children and conducts monthly health check up.
4)Every year nearly 40 children join the hostel and committee has been providing the basic needs and
requirements for the children.
5) Every day the volunteers conduct study hours in which each children individually assessed.
6) Three of the children had completed their 10th s with distinction under the guidance of SAC and are
doing their Intermediate.
Their entire tuitions fees is bared by the committee. For all these things the money needed is col-
lected from the students and faculty in the college by volunteers. Till this date committee have spent
Rs.1,48,000 for the requirements to maintain hostel.
