ught about many changes in the landscape of business and non-business organizations across the

world. Arguments are still persistent about the positive and negative effects about such changes
across. One such effects is the economic slow-down that has effected the manufacturing and
services very severely. Higher education is no exception. Cost optimization and rigorous checks on
the performance of every system and process in such institutions is being clamored for by the
management of such educational institutions today. On the contrary, the standard models of
performance management systems in such institutions is sparse, creating the need for a common
platform which could provide opportunity for such management representatives to come together,
ponder over and prepare with customized models for their respective institutions. Encouraged by
such trend, a two day international seminar on performance management systems in academic
institutions is being organized. This seminar encourages administrators and academicians from
various institutions of higher learning from India and abroad to participate, present and prepare on
the models of performance management for their institutions. Besides presentations, there will be
panel discussions held by senior and experienced administrators and academicians, associated with
the Government, Apex agencies of education, during the two days.

II. Objectives
The seminar will address pertinent issues and challenges of PMS in various institutions of higher
learning. The objectives are:
i) To create a platform for presenting and pondering over various PMS practices in higher education.
ii) To encourage presentation of research studies on PMS in educational institutions that generates
new ideas of PMS.
iii) To encourage successful case presentations and discussions on PMS from academic institutions of
higher learning.
