OL 670: Short Paper Template

Consider the following outline when completing the short papers in this course:

1. Title Page
Be sure to include a title page with the following information:
· Short Paper Name
· Your Name
· The Course Number and Title
· Your Instructors Name
· Date

2. Abstract/Introduction
An abstract should set up the rest of the paper. The rest of the paper will include the details discussed in the
review, recommendations, summary and conclusions.

3. Review and Analysis of the Case

Describe the topic and its implications. This should include what was learned from various sources
concerning the topic. Cite your sources. Include
· Analysis of findings – Evaluate and draw conclusions from the research. Create a link to the real-
world by applying your findings.
· Recommendations – Discuss recommendations based on the analysis. Be sure all case study
questions have been addressed.

4. Summary and Conclusions

Tie together the review, analysis and recommendations into a succinct, two paragraph summary.

5. References
Reference all works cited throughout the paper.

6. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT FORMATTING

· All references should be cited using APA format
· Each short paper should be three to five pages in length (excluding cover and reference pages)
· You are required to list a minimum of two (2) sources
· Please follow the naming protocol for this assignment: SP1YourName, SP2YourName,
SP3YourName, SP4YourName, and SP5YourName
· Save and submit (as per submission instructions) these assignments in MS Word (ending in .doc
or .docx) or Rich Text Format (ending in .rtf)
· Submit these assignments (as per submission instructions) through the appropriate Learning
Module of our Blackboard course website: Module 2, Module 4, Module 6, Module 8, or
Module 10
