• Education-the basic need for human beings.
• Human beings differ.
• However different, each has human right.
Therefore
• Each human being needs special education.
• Education is complete & equal when it is special.
Who needs Special Education?
• All
• Persons with Culture of Excellence.
• Persons with Culture of Silence.
Culture of Excellence includes
• Persons who have abilities still unfolded.
Culture of Silence includes
• Persons with poverty,
• Persons with any backwardness,
• Persons with minority group afflictions and
• Persons with disabilities too.

When will we get information regarding the admission?

• Admission process begins from the last week of


December for the June/July session every year.
• Visit now the website of RCI www.rehabcouncil.nic.in for
Entrance examination of admission to all diploma programs and
• Visit now www.ignou.ac.in for Entrance examination of
admission to B. Ed (Special Education), M. Ed (Special
Education) in the field of Hearing impairment, Visual
impairment, Mental retardation and Learning disability.
• These are available now for the 2011-12 session.
• For more specific interest contact-Member Secretary, RCI, New
Delhi, Director, NCDS, IGNOU, New Delhi and other
Institutes of Rehabilitation Science, Education and Researches.
Why we should Choose a Career in Special Education?

• In India, the field of Special Education is in its early childhood.


• The potential for growing through research is enormous.
• Since disability has been the prominent focus, it may happen to
anybody, anytime during life.
• Disability is a human health issue. It does neither dislike the
rich nor the poor. So also it does not restrict its scope to any
cast, creed, religion. language or any diversities.
• If you wish to choose it not only as a profession but as a career
with commitment and passion , you can help in many ways to
the society.
