    toric origins, but as time presses on, so does the style and atmosphere of
    the city. The original city center and boulevards have a nostalgic tingle to
    them, but the contemporary design continues to bleed through around
    every corner. Lille has not been as purely preserved as say Paris, but none
    the less has a uniquely charming architectural aroma of its own.
