Do Worms Regenerate After Being Cut In Half?

Depends what you mean by worm. The word 'worm' actually applies to a number of phyla of
invertebrate animals, including the Annelids (earthworms, polychaetes, leeches), Platyhelminthes
(flatworms, tapeworms), Nematodes(roundworms) and Nemerteans (ribbon worms).
The common earthworm seen in the garden will not survive if cut into two, unlike a starfish,
which is capable of regeneration. If you cut the tail of an earthworm, the head section can still
continue to live. Starfish can grow a replacement arm if it is cut, or can grow the entire body if
only one arm is left.
Many free-living non-parasitic worms are capable of regenerating, so they can result in two
clones if cut in half.
