One day, a man named Elkanah and his wife, Hannah
came to worship in the Lord’s tent. They had been
married a long time but had no children. Hannah
prayed to God saying, “Please let me have a son. If
you do, I will give him to You and he will serve You as
long as he lives.”

The priest, Eli, saw Hannah praying. Hannah told Eli Very soon you will start hearing about a

In time, Hannah had a baby boy. She named him
Samuel. Samuel lived with Hannah and Elkanah for
the first years of his life, then Hannah kept her
promise. She took Samuel to stay with Eli where he
could serve God.

God was kind to Hannah. He blessed her with three

more sons and two daughters. And Hannah saw
Samuel every year.

The disciples were afraid of the storm.
Through His presence and His words, Jesus
calmed the storm. Think about times when
you are afraid. What are some words you can
imagine Jesus saying to you? How can you
spend time in His presence and be open to the
calm He will bring you?
Who or what was Jesus talking to when He said,
“Quiet! Be still!” What happened when he said those
words?
Practice this month’s memory verse. You
can find it in Luke 2:52 and in this GPS!

Repeat it at each meal!

Draw a picture of Jesus calming the storm.

As you are riding around, look around for

things that are powerful. What machines,
pictures or people do you see that are
powerful? Do you see any stores you would
consider powerful? How powerful is Jesus?
Discuss these questions with your family.
Thank Jesus for being the most powerful of
all..

“Jesus became wise and He grew strong.”

Spend time in prayer each evening. Pray
these words or use your own: Luke 2:52

“Dear God, when I am afraid, please fill my

heart with peace. Help me to turn to You
and to trust You. Thank You for always
being with me. In Jesus’ name I pray,
Amen.”
