ASSIGNMENT:

1. Choose your Favorite/Life Bible Verse.

Isaiah 43:1 Now this is what the LORD says- he who created you, O Jacob, he who
formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by
name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when
you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.

2. Explain why you like that verse.

The first time that I encountered this verse was when I was on a rough path with my
faith in God. That time I wasn’t focused with my spirituality at all, I can go on weeks or
even months without talking to Him until I encountered this verse in my Theo3 Class.
When I read the phrase “you are mine” I honestly felt that God was trying to reconnect
with me. That phrase led me back to Him.

3. Why is it relevant to you at this point in your life?

At this time where all of us are experiencing anxieties, fears, numbness, uncertainty and
such. The only one who can calm my heart is my God, for I believe that I am His child
and He will protect me through this crisis. I haven’t been well for the past few weeks,
maybe it’s because of the countless bad news that we are facing, sometimes I just want
to stay asleep so I won’t be informed of such things but I realized that I can’t escape it
and I should not be afraid because at what God said, “when you pass through the
rivers, they will not sweep over you.”
