2. Check and secure hose connections before operating the Pyplok swaging tool.
4. Keep hands, fingers and any obstructions away from the head assembly while Pyplok
swaging tool is in operation. Proper safety eyeglasses must be worn during operation.
5. Only persons trained by a Tube-Mac instructor are qualified to operate the Pyplok
swaging tool.
6. Before operating perform a visual inspection of Pyplok swaging tool including the
power unit and head assembly for cracks and tool wear. (See picture below)
SELECT THE PROPER HEAD ASSEMBLY AND LOWER DIE BLOCK BASED ON THE PIPE
OR TUBE SIZE.
INSTALL LOWER DIE BLOCK TO POWER UNIT BY DEPRESSING THE RELEASE BUTTON
ON THE SIDE OF LOWER DIE BLOCK AND SLIDE ON TO END OF PISTON ROD.
NOTE: IF THESE CRITERIA ARE NOT MET, THE PIPE CANNOT BE USED.
POSITION THE INSPECTION GAUGE ON THE PIPE WITH THE PIN PRESSED UP
AGAINST THE PIPE END AS SHOWN.
NOTE: ALWAYS START WITH THE OUTSIDE SWAGE FIRST AND WORK TOWARDS
THE MIDDLE OF THE COUPLING.
NUMBER OF SWAGES PER END VARIES WITH PIPE SIZE, SEE PAGE 17.
NOTE: FOR FITTINGS 2” AND LARGER PLUS ALL SUPER DUPLEX FITTINGS TWO
SWAGES ARE REQUIRED. SWAGE AT LOCATION 1, ROTATE PYPLOK TOOL 90
DEGREES AND SWAGE AGAIN. FOLLOW THE SWAGING ORDER AS SHOWN
ABOVE.
Notes:
The Model 70 Power Unit – This unit can be used to swage smaller sizes with the correct
Die Head Assembly.
IMPORTANT NOTE: FOR SUPER DUPLEX COUPLINGS ON SUPER DUPLEX UNS 32750 or
UNS 32760 PIPE, MODEL 70 POWER UNITS MUST BE USED.
(Coupling Sizes available: 1”, 1-1/4”, 1-1/2” AND 2” FOR SCHEDULE 40 PIPE ONLY.)
