The Japan Quake March 2011

Balaji Narasimhan | sherlockbalaji@yahoo.com | http://www.balaji.ind.in/

The quake-tsunami combo that hit Japan in March 2011 was the country’s biggest
earthquake on record and the fifth strongest recorded anywhere in the world in the
past century. [1]

To look at it from an astrological perspective, we need the date of Japan’s formation.

The best possible one is 28 April 1952 because Japan regained full sovereignty on this
day. [2]

Let us consider the position of the grahas:

date 28-apr-1952 11-mar-2011

As can be seen, Gochara Kuja is transiting the 5th from Janma Kuja and the 12th from
Janma Budha, while Gochara Rahu and Ketu are transiting 3rd from their birth
positions. Also, Budha is neecha in both charts. In fact, some of the problems that
Japan has been facing in the past many years may be associated with the fact that
Chandra Lagnadipati is neecha, though getting NBRY by occupying Kendra with an
uccha graha.

But by far the most dangerous transit is that of Gochara Guru, who is transiting the
exact opposite point from Janma Sani.

Let us pray to God and request Him to be kind to the people of Japan. In some ways,
His grace can be seen from the fact that 9th lord Rahu is in the 9th, indicating help
from foreigners. However, 9th lord Sani is in the 4th (8th from 9th), indicating
difficulties and delays. Let us hope that, by His grace, Japan can rebuild itself quickly
and reach for the stars again.
