Virtues

• Moral excellence. A virtue is a trait or quality deemed to be morally


excellent and thus is valued as a foundation of principle and good moral
being.

• Humility: Recognizing one’s capabilities and limitations. Accepting


deserved praise and denying undeserved praise.

• Respect: Respect is an attitude of honoring people and caring about


their rights. Being respectful is reflected in the courtesy with which we
treat one another, the way we speak, and the way we treat other
people’s belongings. Speaking and acting respectfully gives people the
dignity they deserve. Respect means that you don’t try to take
advantage of other people but honor their rights.

• Courage: Courage takes many forms. Examples include the


courage to do what is right, the courage of facing a personal fear,
the courage to accept unpopularity, the courage to endure
physical or mental pain for the sake of self-improvement, the
courage to push forward through frustration, the courage to tell
the truth, the courage to change, the courage to act, the courage
to trust, the courage to love, the courage to commit, and many
more.

• Compassion: a sense of shared suffering, most often combined


with a desire to alleviate or reduce such suffering.

• Virtues of a health care provider:

• Questions – in order to act righteously, what are the unities


necessary for a health worker to process?

• Fidelity – faithfulness in the relationship of trust, every patient


must that is health care giver will keep his promise and keep best
interest first in his mind.

• honesty – truthfulness, it is testing the patient, the family, the colleagues


and society, the truth about an illness, it’s prognosis effectiveness of care
are research findings.
