Graduate Assistant Intern Description

Summary of Position:
• The School of Policy, Planning, and Development, Office of Career Services has an opening
for a Graduate Assistant Intern
• Start date will be 7/1/11; a 6-12 month commitment is preferred.
• This position is unpaid; however the student will receive credit for field work.
• This position will require the intern to primarily work remotely, but come to the offices for
weekly meetings and other events when necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities:


• Assist with the Assistant Director with the rollout, implementation, and maintenance of the
Professional Mentor Program, Externship Program, and Annual Career Fair
• Various other projects as assigned

Skills & Knowledge:


• Familiar with creating and editing multiuse forms and letter templates
• Familiar with database management including import and export function
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work independently and part of team
• The ability to interface with various constituents including students, alumni, staff, and faculty
members
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Education:
• Must be a current graduate level USC student at the Rossier School of Education
