Nowadays English has become a universal language for this reason more and more
people
are trying to learn it.
In our institution, the English course will give an apprenticeship distributed by levels
from
beginners until advanced where those students who have never studied English as those
ones who know something about it can find an appropriate level according to their
knowledge.
When the students finish the course, they will be able to develop the productive skills:
speaking and writing; and the receptive skills: listening and reading. Also, they will be
able
to develop a good vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar of the language.
At the same time, the students will understand the similarities and differences between
American and Ecuadorian cultures and they will learn to respect them.

During the English course the students will be able to develop the following thematic
axes:

are familiar or of personal interest. They will write letters describing experiences
and impressions.

members, body parts, daily activities, animals, drinks, expressions at the airport, at
the restaurant, at the job and so on.
- )*+!"The students will deal with most situations; they will enter unprepared
into conversations on topics that are familiar or pertinent to everyday life.
- , *!!"The students will understand the main ideas of many radio or TV
programs on topics of personal or professional interest.
- *-!"The students will understand texts that consist on daily news, political
and social events and so on.

The method ³Communicative Approach´ will be used in class as well as active teaching
techniques P.P.P. (presentation, practice, production) and ARC (accurate, restrictive,
clear).
Also readings will be practiced in order to learn more vocabulary and fluency.

During the English course the students will be able to use:

There will be a diagnostic evaluation at the beginning of the course to identify the level
of
English in the students, and then there will be a formative evaluation that will be
continual
in order to evaluate the development of the skills in the English language.
At the end of each level there will be a summative evaluation through an oral and
written
exam.
Also, there will be Auto-evaluation, Co-evaluation and Hetero-evaluation in the class.
The instruments of evaluation will be: comprehensive readings, oral expositions,
individual
and group reports, open book tests, objective tests and final exams.
