A “cure” for ArcGIS 10

1. Install regularly both ArcGIS Desktop and License Manager (see fig. 1)

2. Edit with Notepad the file “service.txt” provided with the “cure” and substitute the hostname server with
the name of your machine (see fig. 2).

3. Replace the file AfCore.dll located in C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Bin with the one provided
with the “cure”.

4. Replace the file service.txt located in C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\License10.0\Bin with the one provided
with the “cure” as modified at step 2.

5. Launch License Server Administrator from Start -> All Programs -> ArcGIS -> License Manager -> License
Server Administrator and do Stop -> Start -> Re-read Licenses as shown in fig. 3.

6. Launch ArcGIS Administrator from Start -> All Programs -> ArcGIS -> ArcGIS Administrator and set your
license manager server as shown in fig. 4 and 5.

7. Now ArcGIS is licensed as they are all the extensions… enjoy!
