The Grand Street Bridge over Newtown Creek will be fully closed on Saturdays from April 2nd through May 14th from 7am to 3pm. This closure is necessary to repair steel beams, cross bracing, and the bridge deck. During the closure, vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the adjacent Metropolitan Avenue Bridge. Variable message signs will notify the public of the closure at least one week in advance.

The New York City Department of Transportation Division of Bridges will fully close the Grand Street Bridge over Newtown Creek on Saturdays from April 2nd through May 14th, from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

This closure is necessary to repair steel beams, cross bracing and the bridge deck. Due to the full bridge closure, vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the adjacent Metropolitan Avenue Bridge. Variable Message Sign Boards will be placed on each side of the bridge at least seven days in advance of the work in order to notify the public. Future updates will be provided as needed.
