At ESCUELA NORMAL SUPERIOR DE SABOYÁ children and teenager

are educated in English as a Foreign language, starting with communication,
dynamic activities, Little research in class, in which students are able to
recognize the importance of knowing a foreign language to transform their
future a become better professionals.

Moreover, the increasing from two to three hours of English class allows the
teacher to enhance processes and develop more strategies of improvement
of communicative skills which help students to get better at other activities
and become, socially speaking, open minded and active people.

The most important value of the experience to work and teach English as a
foreign language at ENSSA is to see how students get involved and engaged
with the process and respond to all the activities and duties in class. This
has been so accepted that, by means of the bilingual project supported by
the Bureau of Education of Boyacá, where teachers have the opportunity to
lead extracurricular activities to improve communicative skills, Students
from different grades, starting for 6th to PFC, are attending, voluntarily, the
ENGLISH CLUB ³YOU CAN SPEAK, TOO´ , from Mondays to Wednesdays in
the afternoons, to have fun, speak, listen, write and reading by means of
workshops, role-plays, dancing, films, songs, games and at the same time to
be able to communicate without formal and forced classes and the fear of
making mistakes and get embarrassed for that.

Finally, as a new teacher at ENSSA, to teach English here has been a grand
chance to help student become competitive speakers not only in English
class but in the different subjects where is needed to communicate,
especially, orally. I can tell that I feel the joy of teaching and I can´t help but

smile when I see how happy students get when they notice their
improvement taking place in different contexts apart the school.
