Lab Report (1a)
Title: Visual assessment of colored samples using grey scales.

Tasks

 To read grey scale for shade change.

Procedure

1. Colored fabric sample was taken.


2. Sample was divided in to two parts.
3. One portion was kept untreated.
4. Second portion was treated with any after dyeing chemical.
5. Treated sample was dried completely.
6. Both samples were kept side by side for visual assessment along with the grey scale.
7. Comparison b/w samples were made with respect to grey scale and assign some rating to
the treated sample on the basis of shade change.

Tasks: Grey scale for staining.

Procedure

1. Coloured sample of fabric was taken.


2. Sample was stitched with a multifibre strip.
3. Sample then treated with any washing recipe.
4. Sample were dried completely.
5. Another untreated multifibre strip was taken.
6. Both samples were kept side by side for visual assessment along with the grey scale.
7. Comparison b/w samples with respect to grey scale was observed.

Tasks: Grey scale for rubbing fastness.

Procedure

1. White fabric sample was taken.


2. Sample was divided into two parts.
3. One portion was wet with distilled water.
4. Dry and wet rubbing fastness of both samples were measured by rubbing them on the
coloured sample.
5. Treated wet sample was dried completely.
6. Comparison of treated samples with respect to grey scale was made.
