London, 11th April, 2011: This Thursday, 14th April, Government Knowledge host a conference for
key stakeholders to discuss the coalition’s agenda for police reform. The following speakers are
confirmed to speak at the event at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Westminster:

Rt Hon Nick Herbert MP / Sir Hugh Orde / TCC Nick Gargan / Jan Berry QPM / Rt Hon Keith Vaz
MP / Simon Reed.

The conference will provide a unique opportunity to hear these key voices speak on the same platform
and over 150 senior police officers are confirmed to attend the day. The full implications of police reform
clearly remain an issue of concern for many working within the police. Debate about the real effects of
reform is rapidly evolving as more stakeholders express their views. The event on Thursday will give a
fantastic insight in to how different parties currently view the prospects of police reform delivering its
desired outcomes.

Rt Hon Nick Herbert MP will deliver the morning keynote address, “Safeguarding our Citizens whilst
Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility” and follow his address with a Q & A session with delegates. Sir Hugh
Orde will deliver the afternoon keynote address, “Shaping the Future of Policing – Challenges and
Solutions”.

Over the course of the Police Reform Conference 2011 the following topics will be discussed:

· Reducing Bureaucracy in Policing - Final Report


· The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill
· The Winsor Report - The future of police pay
· Ensuring greater transparency and accountability in local policing
