PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

JAN 2010 a" JUNE 2010 ROSLING KING LLP

Position: Locum Lawyer

I am currently employed on a six month contract following my

redundancy from DAC. I am working on a CFA basis for large
international lending banks in professional negligence claims against
solicitors and valuers. This work involves handling a very large case
load and, as such, requires excellent time-management skills. The
cases range from investigative matters through to progressing the
claim to the Professional Negligence Pre-Action Protocol and
ultimately to settlement and, on occasion, litigation.

JAN 2009 - JAN 2010 DAVIES ARNOLD COOPER

Position: Lawyer

I was employed in the Dispute Resolution Department of DAC in their

London Market Office. I was principally been involved in advising
insurers on policy coverage and the Baker Tilly / Kidsons litigation.
This was a complex matter and involved acting for 18 different
insurers. The matter has now concluded. During my time at DAC, I
adjusted to working in private practice and relished being involved
in major litigation again.

FEB 2007 a" JAN 2009 THOMAS MILLER

Position: In-House Counsel/Claims Executive
I was employed in the Professional Indemnity Division of Thomas
Miller for the Bar and Patent Attorneys' Mutual Insurance companies
for two years. I joined the team as a NQ to handle the defence of
professional negligence claims and professional conduct complaints
against barristers in England
*
Being able to arrive at an informed view of how claims/complaints
should be handled after analysing the nature of the claim / complaint
and assessing the strength of the defence(s) on the available
evidence;
*
Managing case-loads from notification through to mediation,
negotiation, settlement and trial where applicable liaising with
barristers, solicitors, the Insured and opposing counsel;
*
Sole responsibility for the management of the case-load and the
resolution of claims;
*
To communicate clearly, effectively and in a timely manner, both in
writing and verbally, with insureds, brokers, re-insurers, suppliers,
opponents and colleagues;
*
Appoint and monitor the performance of external legal and other
advisors to ensure the effective management of claims/complaints; and
*
Present case summaries at Board Meetings and prepare reports.

I also enhanced my substantive knowledge of these areas of law by

attending courses on Patent Law and IP Law for Commercial Lawyers run
by CLT. Ultimately, I developed a breadth of experience and
responsibility in the fields of professional negligence and IP law
during my time at Thomas Miller.

OCT 2006 - FEB 2007 LOVELLS LLP

POSITION: PARALEGAL a" LITIGATION (TEMPORARY)

I was employed to work on a high-profile fraud / commercial

misrepresentation case. This involved carrying out disclosure and
producing witness statements as well as general paralegal support
during the progress of this litigation.
JUNE 2006 - SEPT 2006 ALLEN & OVERY LLP
POSITION: PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT LAWYER, LITIGATION (TEMPORARY)
I was employed to provide Know-How and research support to the
litigation team.

APRIL 2006 - JUNE 2006 CMS CAMERON MCKENNA LLP

POSITION: LEGAL ASSISTANT/PARALEGAL,
LITIGATION, (TEMPORARY)

My role was to prepare research, case bundles & procedural advice

working, in particular, on the 'split-capital misselling' case.

JAN 2006 - MARCH 2006 SERIOUS FRAUD OFFICE

POSITION: DISCLOSURE OFFICER ON THE INDEPENDENT INSURANCE COMPANY
(IIC)

I was employed to work in the SFO in a complex criminal

investigation against three company directors. This involved carrying
out extensive electronic disclosure and producing reports based on
these investigations. I gained a real insight into fraud litigation
which was particularly useful following my FSA/SEC training and
recent employment in a hedge-fund. I enjoyed the challenge and
complexity of this work.
