The fact of underage drinking costs the U.S about $58 billion

y/topic/0,,tp17749_uq2408,00.html The statistics are radical. The average age of kid’s first alcohol
use is 12 and the average age of first drug use is 13. According
to the NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse), about 93% of
all teens have experience with alcohol by the end of their
senior year and 6% drink every day.

About 8 percent of teenagers smoke cigarettes frequently

(about 20 days a month). The use of tobacco has serious long-
term health problems and is highly addictive. A teen that uses
tobacco for a year or more has more than an 80 percent chance
of becoming addicted.

Summary: My summary about my notes is that well lots of children abuse on drugs. The parents
should spend more time with the parents and keep them away from the drugs. The children use the
drugs because they are stressed out or because they are living in a violent home. So I think the parents
have a big part on this.
