Deliverables – Hard copy (printed assignment) AND softcopy (on CD) with your names and
Registration number. The group leader should also prepare a report on how each
member contributed towards the assignment.

(Note: Check at my office (C21) or the CSI Lab for submission of assignments and if I’m not
there, leave them with the Secretary of Computer Science).

Duties:

Create a User Manual for carrying out the following Tasks in Excel

• Creating Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts

• Creating Basic Macros

The User Manual should also include steps for handling the following Tasks in Word

• Creating and addressing mails efficiently

• Reviewing Documents (focusing on Commenting, Tracking Changes, Comparing

documents)

• Referencing Documents (focusing on Table of Contents, footnotes, Citations and

Bibliography, Indexing)

• Protecting Documents

Tip: You can create a tutorial and guide persons through it, using a step wise technique.

Guidelines:

• Complete in mixed groups (mixed majors) of 5 or 6 . Ensure that I have approved your
group.

• Marks will be awarded based on:

o Illustrations,

o Clarity of the explanations

o How well the benefits and appropriateness of using the tools, was highlighted

• 10% will be deducted per day for submissions beyond April 20th , 2010
