Boroibari, Raumari day and today’s perspective

 
 
BDR has long been a headache for India as it always faced the BSF very boldly
and decisively. BDR throughout its history fought a good number of border
skirmishes and placed its name in the history. Then came the 18th April 2001, a
day which BGB and the whole nation will remember for the heroic actions of our
Defenders of the Border in stopping the aggressors.
 
On that day 10 years ago a number of 300 BSF troops crossed over to BD territory
with a view to capturing the BDR Boroibary Border Out Post (BOP) at Raumari in
Kurigram, but could not do so due to the brave people at the borders and heroic act
of the guarding BDR who fought valiantly and as many as 18 BSF soldiers were
killed and the rest fled away, some of them even leaving their weapons.
Newspapers published the dead bodies being dragged by the suffering bordering
peoples who suffer the most because of the almost daily basis border violence of
the BSF.  Two of the BSF man arrested were even brought to the hospital at the
BDR HQ to get them treated. While repulsing the attack 2 of our brave BDR man
earned martyrdom.
 
After such a shameful defeat as caused on the invading troops we should have
been very careful. We should have guarded against our enemies all around and we
relaxed instead. If we did not relax and kept on having an eye on the enemy, 25 th
February BDR massacre would not have happened. Some elements at home
capitalized on some issues within BDR as later through the inquiry it came out that
there was a political involvement and the rebels met the local MP also on some
matters and the whole thing was finally used by a third party who has its pin
rolling the bread in BD. We experienced the blackest day of the history a pre
planned attack and a pre mediated murder where we lost 57 brilliant sons of the
soil the loss which possibly could not be met any day. For the external actors, it all
happened because the BDR is trained by the Army and because of which has
resulted in the BDR becoming a very capable force that does it’s job very well to
the point that the BSF fear BDR.
 
 
Today the whole nation should join and pray for the greater unity and thereby
strength of Bangladeshis so that nobody even dare to do such act again and pray to
Almighty Allah to help us protect our National Sovereignty and Territorial
Integrity and pray for all the martyrs who sacrificed their most precious possession
and sacrificed their present for our future.
