Introduction
Online shopping is the process consumers go through
to purchase products or services over the Internet.
 An online shop evokes the physical analogy of buying
products or services at a retailer or in a shopping mall.
Benefits
Outside factors contribute to the increased interest in
online shopping are:
 increasing gas prices
difficulty getting to traditional stores
 hassles often associated with shopping in malls and
other traditional stores.
comparison shopping capabilities
 express shipping options
For customers- it is not only because of the high
level of convenience, but also because of the broader
selection; competitive pricing and greater access to
information.
For organizations- it increases their customer value
and the building of sustainable capabilities, next to
the increased profits
Important features of the Online Shopping System
are:
Consistent user interface with economic features
built into it.
System design in modular and structures so as to
make the integration with other subsystems easier.
User has complete control as the system provides and
accepts only appropriate and valid data.
User friendly error messages are provided whenever
necessary.
Online shopping System has the following modules

Shopping Module- This module deals with fetching


information from the client, placing order of the
customers and verifying the transactions with the Bank.
Shopping Cart Module- The shopping cart tracks the
items a user has selected for purchase.
Menu Module- From the menu module, the user can
choose an item.
Administrator module- The administrator can keep
track of Products, Customers, Order Details, etc.
Product Information Module- The product information
displays the information about the product.
