Tupac

Tupac was born June 16, 1971, he was born one month after his mother Afeni

was released from jail. He was raised in Bronx, New York. He attended the High

School of Preforming Arts in Baltimore, where he began writing and preforming

rap music. Tupac’s child life was very rough in the neighborhood that he grew up

in, the streets actually got to rough that his mother recommended that he moved

to Marin, California, and found success in the music industry. His new career was

a successful musician (rap artist). He was awarded the American Music Award for

favorite rap/hip-hop Artist in 1997, he also won the 2005 ASCAP rhythm and soul

music award. He also received many other nominations. The theme of his lyrics

was the life he was living. He was influenced by his mother, Niccolo Machiavelli, a

Italian philosopher, Malcom X, and Martin Luther King Jr. Tupac’s life mirrored his

music/creating a rebel, telling stories about troubled youth, street violence, and

taking revenge against who had wronged him. Tupac was shot multiple times, and

went to the hospital, and went into a coma and passed away six days later. Tupac

died on September 13, 1996.
