Hi experts (IBM experts, I hope)

1. We have a IBM xSeries 226 with 2 SATA drives (western digital wd800) and an IDE CD/ROM device
2. We set the BIOS this way
a) Parallel ATA: BOTH
b) Serial ATA: ENABLED
c) SATA RAID enable: ENABLED
3. We went in the Adaptec embedded HostRAID utility (CTRL-A), format both drives, initialize the drives, create array in mirror,
mark as bootable
4. We then try to boot with the IBM ServeRAID 7e support CD, it stops booting with "Please wait while the system initializes"
with a couple of dots and a "DONE" at the end. Nothing happens. Same thing with ServeRAID 7.12.
5. We try the ServeRAID 8 support CD, it boots fine but doesn't find the controller.

We also updated the BIOS to 1.70.

My question is why does Microsft Windows server 2003 doesn't see the SATA controller with the drivers supplied by IBM
website? Can someone send me the appropriate host raid controller driver?

Thanks,
Martin
