How to create RAID

volume with 2 x PCIe

Setup procedures
• To create a RAID Volume, please follow below steps to configure BIOS items.
1. Get into BIOS setup, set SATA mode to [RAID]
2. set Windows 8.1/10 WHQL support to [Enabled]
3. Back to SATA configuration and set Both M2_1 & M2_2 RST PCIe Storage
Remapping to [Enabled]
4. Save & Exit BIOS setup, then get into BIOS setup again
5. Get into Intel Rapid Storage Technology
6. Get into Create RAID Volume
7. Check each item for creating RAID Volume
8. Select the two disks by [X]
9. Create Volume after disks are selected
10. RAID Volume is created successfully
11. Check the RAID Volume Info
12. Load Intel RAID driver during Windows installation

• System configuration for RAID testing
– CPU: Intel i5-6600K
– Motherboard: Z170A XPOWER
– BIOS Version: E7968IMS.100
– Memory: Crucial DDR4-2133MHz 4GB x 2
– PCIe M.2: PLEXTOR PX-G256M6e / SanDisk SD6PR4M-256G
– Driver Disk: G71-MID1054
– OS version: Windows 8.1 Pro x64

Load Intel RAID driver during Windows installation
• Load Intel RAID driver when selecting a disk during Windows
installation if you want to install Windows to the RAID disk.

Where to find Intel RAID driver
• Find Intel RAID driver in MSI Driver Disk with below route.
E:\Storage\Intel\PCH\WINT (E: = DVD-ROM)

• Download Intel RAID driver on MSI website.
