05: GIVE US THE GLOBAL FOOTPRINT

Give my people the “big picture” of how they are part of something beyond our local
church.
BIG PICTURE: People in the pew need to connect their hearts, lives and ministries to the work God is doing all
over the world. Help them understand how their faith and sacrifice are making a difference. Yes, the Kingdom
of God is so much bigger than the Assemblies of God. Yet the World Assemblies of God reflects a special move
of God’s Spirit, and a clearer picture of the work of the Holy Spirit abroad can foster a closer spiritual connec-
tion between the American church and the global church. Showing us how your work and ours are a part of the
larger context of God’s global purposes gives our lives and relationships an eternal significance. Never miss the
opportunity to help the American audience connect their Christian walk to the work God is doing through the
church worldwide.

SMALL PICTURE: On the other hand, while giving the global footprint, always tell the individual story about a
changed life. This is often the best way to illustrate the greater work of Holy Spirit. For the most part, a story of
one tells the story of all. In other words, set the larger context, but tell the smaller story. Then connect our story
with your story, and all our stories with God’s grand Story of Salvation.
