Abstract

In this report we have 1st describe the history of CIIT Sahiwal and the programs which it

is offering for its students.Then we describe the promotional sources which it is using to

inform the general public about CIIT Sahiwal.And analyse through which source

students more come to know about CIIT Sahiwal.

After this we have describe the methodology which we used to gather the related data

.After this we have present our findings and then give our results and interpret themse

results.

In the end we have give some recommendations which CIIT Sahiwal has to use because

by using them more frequently more people come to know about CIIT Sahiwal and their

admission rate will increase.


Introduction

COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Sahiwal campus is situated half-way


between Lahore and Multan on COMSATS Road off G.T Road Sahiwal, was formally
inaugurated on September 23, 2007. The campus is purpose built and is spread over area
of 36 acres on land.
CIIT Sahiwal is committed to provide state of the art training and education to our
students and prepare them for successful career in their respective fields. Our mission is
to encourage learning and promote research activities in order to facilitate our students to
fulfill their aims and aspirations objectively. We are offering a broad range of programs,
especially in the areas of Management Sciences, Computer Science, Biosciences,
Engineering and Humanities. Our programs are focused on creating crucially needed
transitions toward sustainable practice.
CIIT sahiwal used different promotion tools for students to come to know about CIIT
Sahiwal. These are following: Internet, Billboard, Newspapers, banners, catalogs, give
aways, and computer gaming competition. These promotions help students to know about
CIIT Sahiwal and due to these they are securing more admissions every year with passing
time.
In this report we will discuss about these promotional programs that which promotional
sources are more effective through which the current students comes to know about CIIT
Sahiwal, and they take admissions there.
Methodology

The methodology we used to collect data that through which sources the current students
come to know about CIIT Sahiwal is interviews. We have taken a sample of fifty students
and interviewed them individually and ask them question that through which source they
come to know about CIIT Sahiwal. We have selected ten students from different
programs which are mentioned below,

• Master of Business Administration


• Bachelor of Business Administration
• Bio Informatics
• Bachelor of Computer Science
• Bachelor of Telecommunication and Networking
Findings

The findings which we have got is that through which source they come to know about
CIIT Sahiwal is mentioned below in the table,

Results

As from our findings it shows that current students take admission in CIIT Sahiwal after
knowing from different sources which is,

Friends

It shows that these students have asked from their friends about Comsats Institute of and
in response Information Technology they have told them that it has a campus CIIT
Sahiwal and they have praised their that it is a good one and there is good atmosphere
there. And they are offering different programs.

Relatives

It shows that 28% students are those have been informed about CIIT Sahiwal by their
relatives such as, Cousins, Brothers and Uncle Etc.They know about it because either
they were previous students of it or their children study there that’s why they know about
CIIT Sahiwal.

Newspapers

It shows that 14% students come to know about CIIT Sahiwal because of its promotion
on newspaper print ads which they place in different newspapers on Sunday as it is the
main source of communication in Pakistan

Internet

It shows that 6% of students come to know about CIIT Sahiwal because of its website
after visiting on internet.
Billboards and Banners

It shows 8% of students are those who have seen the promotional ad of CIIT Sahiwal on
the billboards and banners.And they come to the CIIT Sahiwal.
Recommendations

We have some recommendation which CIIT Sahiwal has to use to make it


promotional sources of information more effective so that maximum people
come to know about CIIT Sahiwal and there admission rate increase.

 They should also have to use more frequency of print ad on different

newspapers of the country because print media is main and cheapest


sources of information for the general public as the newspaper moves
every rural and urban areas of the country. So when the maximum
number of people comes to know about CIIT Sahiwal they will tell
others and in this way their admission rate will increase.

 They should also have to use more frequency of banners on internet

on the site of different more used website and take the help of social
networking by uploading short video ad on facebook and youtube so
that different people can share with their friends and information flow
will increase.

 They should also have to place print ads on billboards in different

small and big cities on their main locations where there is more
crowds’ movement.

 They should have to arrange free seminars different small and big

cities for the students of different colleges so that they come to know
about CIIT Sahiwal and the programs, facilities and opportunities
which CIIT is offering to their students.
 They should also have to do CSR by offering free scholarships to

disables that are intelligent and are good in studies.

 They should also have to do CSR through Biosciences by advance

search in agricultural and guiding the farmers nearby by advising


them that use these seeds for maximum yield and give them free
samples of different seeds and inspect their field time to time.
