Permanent exhibition on Slovenian

History at Ljubljana Castle
On 23 June 2010, a group of leading historians, museum experts and
designers under the guidance of Dr. Božo Repe, Blaž Vurnik and Irena
Šinkovec mounted a contemporary exhibition at Ljubljana Castle that
presents Slovenian history in a concise, transparent and
comprehensive way with an emphasis on selected topics and
personalities. It is intended for both Slovenian and foreign visitors,
with Slovenian history being presented in a popular way.

The exhibition consists of original objects, replicas, tactile exhibits,

interactive content and audiovisual digitalised information adapted
for children and persons with special needs.
The exhibition is conceived chronologically and divided into six For motivation, leaf through the
sections covering prehistory and the Roman period, the middle and extensive publication published
early modern period, the 19th century and WWI, the Kingdom of upon the opening of the
Yugoslavia and WWII, socialist Yugoslavia and independent exhibition.

The exhibition also includes a presentation of society, the state

formation, political, social and economic conditions, migratory
movements, traffic, culture, architecture and everyday life in each
particular period.
