LAB NO 3 (A):

OBJECTIVE : Detail study of 8251 IC . Pin description 8251Ic has 28 pin.

Do-D7:
this is a bi directional data bus which receives control word and data.

Reset:
a high on the pin force 8251 in reset status.

Wr :
used for writing transmit data and control word in to 8251IC.

Rd :
used for sending and receiving data from 8251IC.

C/D:
used for selecting data or control word when C/D=0 data will be accessed and
when C/D=1 control word will be accessed.

CS:
(chipselect) used for selecting 8251IC.

TxD:
transmit data from which serial converted data is sent out.

TxRDy:
it indicate that 8251IC is ready to accept a transmit data character.

Txempty:
it indicates that 8251IC has transmitted all data and has no more data.

TxC:
it is a clock signal which determined the transfer speed of transmitted data.

RxD:

it receives serial data.

RxRDy:
it indicates that 8251IC contains character that is ready to send.

RxC:
it determines the transfer speed and receives data.
