Internet
What about apps?

 All applications are Web applications

 For example documents, spreadsheets and
presentations can be created using Google Docs
 Images can be edited using Piknik
 Videos can be watched at Youtube
 Games can be played on the Web itself
Security

 Each tab is a separate process thus isolating any

malware
 If any untoward activity is detected the OS downloads
a backup image and restores it, without any user
interaction
 System processes are totally invisible to external apps
Advantages

 Low cost PCs can be provided

 No maintenance cost
 Automatic System Upgrades, Hardware upgrades
unnecessary
 Portability : You can work anywhere, use any
machine, as long as you are connected with your
Google id.
So what’s the catch?

 You need to be connected to the Internet all the time

for ChromeOS to work
