Pipeline Engineers – Australian Gas Industry

The Australian economy is strong, and a number of onshore gas projects are now being developed in
2011-2012 with further major projects in the planning stages. Excellent opportunities exist for suitably
qualified and experienced candidates.

Candidates must have:

 Degree qualifications in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering from a university recognised


by the Australian Institute of Engineers ( Engineers Australia), and be accepted for
professional registration in Australia

 At least 5 years’ experience in onshore pipeline construction and operation, and/or


experience in mechanical, structural or chemical engineering with a significant amount of oil
and gas industry involvement

 Experience in pipeline design, compressor stations and end-of-line facilities;

 Exposure to international QA and Safety standards and to Australian Standard AS 2885;

 An Awareness of relevant Australian petroleum acts, regulations, standards and codes;

 Qualifications and Technical experience of the pipeline, and /or oil and gas industries.

It is absolutely essential that candidates are fluent in English, and must be able to comprehend
and communicate clearly and confidently in English at the highest social and technical levels. A
formal IELTS test result will be required for professional registration and immigration purposes,
but candidates will also be further assessed for English abilities during the selection processes.
Candidates will also be required to demonstrate multi-tasking skills, an ability to work in teams,
and also to take individual leadership responsibilities and demonstrate initiative within the
Australian workplace environment.

Candidates without the required communication skills will not be considered.
