2011 Extended

Benefits Program
Helps the
Unemployment
Extension
Needers in US
 Are you are aware that the 2011
Extended Benefits Program helps the
unemployment extension needers in US?

 This program provides workers with 13 -

20 extra weeks of getting state
unemployment insurance benefits
throughout areas with a certain
unemployment rate.
 This extension is generally provided
through the program whenever
individuals exhaust the regular state
benefits as well as Emergency
Unemployment Compensation.

 Here is an example, based on the

Extended Unemployment Compensation
benefits and the unemployment rate.
 The amount for weekly extended benefits
will be similar to what the individual
would get for normal unemployment
compensation.

 But, the overall amount given for the

extended benefits might be less than 13
or 20 weeks, based on the
unemployment rate in a particular state.
 For some time now, the people in America
have been calling for the Tier 5 extended
unemployment benefits. This is something
that the Government was debating about
for quite some time and have not taken
any action about to this date.
 Although some individuals are talking
about the benefits from unemployment
extension, some have actually taken steps
to encourage the government to take
action.
 Most people are not eligible to get
benefits in the Tier 5 classification.

 There are thousands of people from 40 to

60 years old who are unable to find any
work whatsoever, not even the simple
jobs at places like gas stations or fast
food outlets.
 The sad thing is that most of them are
highly talented and experienced, but they
are unable to get this kind of benefit for
some reason.

 Some of them are in their 50's, but even

with anti-discrimination legislation, they
are experiencing difficulty to find jobs
because of their age.
 One more widespread complaint for the
tier 5 classification is the fact that people
are too qualified for the available
positions.

 It’s also true that it will be hard to find a

job when you're too qualified and many
adversaries are altercating that those
unemployed persons must try to cope
with the situation by applying for lower
positions.
 Some of the persons who are totally
against it also state that an extension of
benefits under the Tier 5 unemployment
classification would discourage those who
are out of work from looking for a job.

 As expected, the unemployment board

states that this is completely wrong and
they have plans to continue issuing
unemployment allowances when there are
no significant increases in job openings.
Collecting Extended Benefits

 The unemployment extension benefits

are generally paid by the state's
unemployment program.

 Whenever a state starts an extended

benefit period, a notification would be
sent to the individuals who have gotten
their regular benefits.
 This notification would state that they are
eligible to get extended benefits from the
program.
