Skyler spoke from the edge of the bed, a book in his hand.

“Skyler-“ Brett eyed him as he packed the rest of his things.

“And y’know, the Rocky Mountains aren’t all that great.”

“Skyler-“

“The climate is shitty too…”

“Skyler!” Brett yelled, finally getting the other boy’s attention. He let out a soft sigh before
going over and sitting down next to him on the bed, taking the book from his hand to place it on the
table. “I’ll miss you too, Sky.”

Skyler swallowed, nodding briefly before he pressed his forehead against his best friends
shoulder. “You’ll call me every day?”

“Yes.”

“And send me e-mails?”

“Of course.“

And birthday presents.”

“Duh- “ Brett laughed as he leaned his head to the side, burying his face in the wavy locks.

Silence, followed by quite sobs- but both knew no more words were needed.
