Terry High School named its Athletes of the Year during the annual Spring Fling held Monday at

Four athletes from B.F. Terry High School, Rhyne Acuff, Andrea “Dre” Daniels, Bryce Johnson and
Dillon Stavinoha, were named the outstanding athletes of the 2010-11 year. The announcement was
made during the annual Spring Fling where athletes celebrate the end of the year.
Acuff is a three-year letterman in volleyball and also on the Terry track team. She has received
numerous volleyball awards, a result of her athletic ability and leadership. Those awards include being
named to the Fort Bend Herald First Team All Area in 2010, Fort Bend Herald Second Team All Area
2009, Academic All District Team in 2008, 2009 and 2010, District 24-4A First Team All District in 2010,
District 24-4A Second Team All District in 2009, Lady Ranger kill leader in 2010 and second in digs the
same year. She was also elected team captain by her teammates.
She has been a member of the track and field team the past four years where she competed in
jumps, springs and relay. She also qualified for the regional meets the past two years.
In addition, Acuff is an artist who received special merit for her painting at the Houston
Livestock Show and Rodeo’s art show. She will be playing volleyball at Howard Payne University in the
fall.
Daniels is a two-year letterman in volleyball and also lettered in basketball and track. She has
received numerous volleyball awards, a result of her athletic ability and leadership, including being
named to the Fort Bend Herald First Team All Area 2010, Fort Bend Herald Honorable Mention Team in
2009, Academic All District in 2009 and 2010, District 24-4A First Team All District in 2010, 24-4A
Honorable Mention All District in 2009, Lady Ranger Rookie of the Year in 2009, Lady Ranger Block
Leader in 2010 and second in kills in 2010.
Daniels was elected team captain by her teammates, and she will be playing volleyball this fall at
Wiley College.
Stavinoha is a two-year varsity letterman in football and a three-year varsity letterman in
baseball. He has been named 1st team All District for the past three years and was voted 2nd Team All
District in football for 2010. He led the district in punting with a 39-yard-per-game average.
He has been voted Academic All District for the past two years in football and Academic All
District for the past three in baseball. He was also voted Academic All State in baseball for the 2011
season.
Stavinoha has also been a member of the National Honor Society at Terry for the past two years
and is ranked #32 in this year’s graduating class. He will attend Hill College in the fall.
Johnson is a two-year letterman in track and field where he competed in the 200-M dash, the
4x200M relay, the 4x100 relay and the 4x400 relay. He is also a regional qualifier in track. In football,
Johnson is a two-year letterman, was elected team captain and was All District Running Back and Wide
Receiver, Academic All District and Academic All State. He will be attending Hardin-Simmons College in
the fall.
