Introduction

 George Orwell was an English novelist,


essayist and critic, famous for his political
satires ANIMAL FARM.

 Power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts


absolutely-and this is vividly proved in
Orwell's short novel.
ANIMAL FARM
ANIMAL FARM

 Mr. Jones who was the hard master of the


animal farm named Manor Farm.
 One night, all the animals assemble in a barn to
hear “old Major” the Pig.
 Inspiring philosophy of Animalism.
 Death of Old major.
They plot rebellion against Jones.

When Jones forgets to feed the animals, the


revolution occurs.

Manor Farm was renamed by Animal Farm


and the Seven Commandments of
Animalism are painted on the barn wall.
 Initially, the rebellion was a success.

 The pigs become the supervisors of the farm.

 Napoleon, proves to be a power-hungry leader.

 Squealer, a pig with the ability to persuade the


other animals that the pigs are always moral
and correct in their decisions
Attempt to retake farm.

But by the tactics of Snowball, the animals


defeat Jones.

Arrival of Winter and Plan of Windmill.

 Napoleon oppose such a plan to build a


windmill on the ground
Vote for Windmill.

Napoleon made Snowball out of Farm.

Napoleon hold the charge of the animal


farm.

Much of the next year is spent building the


windmill.

Napoleon start breaking the principles of


animalism.

Trading with neighboring farms.


When the windmill built, Fredrick and Jone
attacked the farm again.
All the animal get united and beat them again
but in all that Jones destroy their windmill.

Napoleon predictably blames Snowball and


orders the animals to begin rebuilding it.

Years later boundaries of farm were expanded


but life of animals harsh.
Seven commandments were reduced to single
law:
“All animals are equal but some
animals were than equal”.

Novel ends with Pilkington sharing drinks with


pigs in Jones house.

Other animals watch the seen from outside the


window.
