Rules to form the plural nouns


1 To form the plural of most nouns, just add S

Example: Movie, Movies. Car, Cars. Chair, chairs. Buy, Buys. Eye, Eyes.

2 The nouns ending in s, x, ch, sh, add ES

Example: Brush, Brushes. Beach, Beaches. Church, Churches. Lunch, Lunches.


Box, Boxes

3 Nouns ending in a vowel and Y jus add S

Example: Pay, Pays. Play, Plays. Say, Says. Buoy, Buoys. Boy, Boys

4 Nouns ending in a consonant and Y change the Y I and add Es

Example: Party, Parties. Candy, Candies. Study, Studies. Cry, Cries. Family,
Families.

There are four kinds of nous

1Common nouns: Name things we have around.


Example: computer, windows, doors, house, table…

2Proper nouns: Name particular name of person of place.


Example: Ashley, Italy. Lucky, Denmark. Natalie, England. Jeremy, Germany. Baker,
Copan…

3Abstrac nouns: Express a special quality of the person or thing it is related with
feelings.

Example: confused, sceptical, love, sadness, Angry…

4Collective nous: Name persons or things as a group.


Example: The beach, the stadium, the hospital, the school, the church.
