MECH 3003Y- Drives and Control

Intelligent Controllers – Microcontroller Programming

ASSIGNMENT 1 - TO BE SUBMITTED BY FRIDAY OF WEEK 16.

You are advised to work in Groups consisting of not more than 4 students for this
assignment. Each group member will have to rate the contribution of the other
group members at the end of the project. The Marks of each member will then be
adjusted accordingly. Names of group members to be submitted by 15th March
2008.

THE PROBLEM:

The objective of this assignment if to automate a simple process or device using a

microcontroller.

You are required to select an appropriate application which can be controlled by a

microcontroller. The application must include a few sensors and different actuators
to demonstrate the control process using a microcontroller. You will need to design
and implement the proposed design including any required electrical/electronic
circuits. The implementation and demonstration of the system will be scheduled in
the Week starting 05th May 2008.

Give a properly labeled diagrams of all circuits of the proposed design.
