Euriae Background that I sent to Demonwolf.

As far as the Euriae go, they are descended from the people who migrated north and formed the
Dok tribes. They are the closest to the original Doks in blood, and also have possibly the greatest
claim to the throne of Calradia, despite what those upstart Swadian bastards say. They reside to the
south of the Crown of Lyonesse and possess some of the finest shock cavalry in Calradia, their
Kataphrakts being a match for any Knight or Mamluke.

Their current ruler, Basileus Iohannes, wishes to extend Euriaen rule north and annex the
Lyonnessian and Sarranian lands, before continuing his sweep through what used to be the Greater
Swadian Empire, namely the Republic of Rhodoks, the Halrond Confederation and of course the
Lesser Swadian Empire. His only real ally in this cause, would be the Khan of the Khergits, who of
course, either of them would betray without any qualms whatsoever. But Sanjar Khan can see the
effect that a strong opponent to the south would have on his main enemies, the Sarranids and
Swadians. What's more, Iohannes can recognise that the Khergit way of war is extremely effective
against heavy cavalry, developed as it was to combat the Knight and Mamluke heavy armies of the
Swadians and Sarranids respectively.
