The Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet is located between Vimbod and lEspluga de Francol. It is a monastery of the Cistercian order founded in 1150. Located at the foot of the mountains of Prades, in the region Conca de Barbera, in Catalonia . It was founded by Cistercian monks from France on lands conquered to the Saracens. The monastery is located in Poblet. In the monastery live monks. The monastery was built when the king Ramon Berenguer IV gave the monks lands in La Conca de Barber. In the 18th century the monastery fell into decadence. But nowdays the monastery of Poblet is one of the most important monastic centres in Europe.

Cona de Barber is a region of the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia (Spain). Located within, its area is 650.24 km and includes a total of 22 municipalities. The capital of the region is the village of Montblanc. Conca de Barber is a big hollow surrounded by Francol and Anguera river valleys and low height mountains. It is located in the extreme south west of Catalonia, near the sea. It is a very common path. The Romans crossed it with Via Aurlia, an ancient road. The Arabian and the Visigoths used to go across it and nowadays they are so many ways to go through this area. People from Lleida and Aragn have to cross it to arrive to the Mediterranean Sea. In la Conca de Barber is very important the production of vine and wine. It is a very important region in the geography and the history of Catalonia. It is one of the oldest in the area.
