GettingHelpinMSPowerPoint2007
TogethelpinExcel 2007,lookforthehelp icon[]inthetop righthandcornerofthe screenandclickonit. Youwillbepresented withawindowthat looksliketheonehere ontheright.

TheSlideMaster
Onthemasterslideyoucansetthedefaultlook foreach slide.
NOTE,theslidemasterisdifferentthanathemeinthesensethatthe slidemasterisusedtoadddefaultcontent(whichcaninclude backgroundpictures)toyourpresentationandathemeisusedto add adefaultartstyletoyourpresentation.

Allobjectsthatyouplaceonthemasterslidewillbeplacedon eachslide. Themasterslidecontainsplaceholdersthatcanbeformatted. Youcansettheattributesforthetext(Size,Weight,Font)and youcanalsosetthebackgroundimagesandbackground colour. Youcanalsosetthestyleofbulletstobeused.

Normalview isthedefaultview SlideSorterdisplaysalltheslidesinconsecutiveorderas thumbnails. NotesPageissimilartothenormalviewexcepttheslidesare reducedinsizeandlocatedintheupperportionofthescreen withthelowerportionofthescreenbeingallocatedfor addingnotestotheslide. Slideshowisthepresentationwheretheslidesareenlarged tofittheentirescreen.

AllsortsAnimationEffectscanbeaddedtoyourslides andthebestwaytofindoutwhatworksbestforyour presentationistoplayaroundandexperimentwithall thedifferentoptions. Butfirst,acautionarynote.Manybadpresentations willoverlyrelyonanimations(andotherstylistic effects)tokeeptheaudienceinterested(probably becausethepresentationitselfwaslessthanriveting). Thebestpresentationsaretheonesthateffectively useanimationsasanaidinpresentinginformation, ratherthandistractingfromit.Inshort,agoodruleof thumbtorememberwouldbeLessismore.
