    Tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka increased in the first five months of 2011 compared to the same period in 2010. Between January and May 2011, there were 348,715 tourist arrivals, an increase of 40.2% over the 233,922 arrivals during those months in 2010. The largest increases were seen in March and April 2011, with arrivals up 43.5% and 66.7% respectively over the previous year.
