You have been advised to practice self isolation (see below). You should have improvement in your symptoms over the next few days. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, either with your sleeve or a tissue or handkerchief. (Whenever possible, avoid coughing or sneezing into your hands.) Wash your hands often with soap and warm water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Rub your hands together vigorously for at least 20 seconds covering all surfaces of the hands. Rinse with warm water and dry using a disposable towel. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective. Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, and mouth to keep flu germs from entering your body. Avoid sharing objects such as utensils, cups, bottles and telephones. If you must share, disinfect the objects before and after using them. Keep your living and work areas clean. Practice self isolation. Stay home until you have been fever free for 24 hours Rest Drink plenty of fluids Take acetaminophen for fever. If you are ill, DO NOT go to class or to work. You should stay home or in your room at the residence hall and avoid contact with other people as much as possible to keep from spreading your illness to others. You should NOT attend class or return to work until you have not had a fever (without medication) for 24 hours. This also applies if you plan to use public transportation to return home or travel.
