FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTION
Its a table that organizes data into classes (groups) 2.0 2.6 3.2 3.8 4.4 5.0 to to to to to to 2.5 3.1 3.7 4.3 4.9 5.5 1 0 2 8 5 4

RELATIVE FREQUENCY
Presents frequencies in terms of fractions or percentages It is the frequency of a class interval divided by the total of observations

F D TABLE CONSTRUCTION HOW TO?

1. Decide on the type and number of classes for dividing the data 2. Decide width:
= Next unit value after largest value smallest value Total number of class intervals

3. Sort data points into classes and count the number of points in each class

Class intervals?
Exclusive method: upper limit of one class is shown as the lower limit of the next class. Ensures continuity of data. Preferred in case of continuous variable (allowed to assume any value within a given range) Inclusive method: upper limit of one class is included in the class itself. Preferred in case of discrete variable
(allowed to assume only a limited no of values)
