Description An issue with UCF is identified when one or more of the following occur while a content transfer operation

(Import, Create, Export, View, Checkout and Checkin) is in progress. The screen shows Initializing Plugin and freezes The screen shows Initializing Plugin and does nothing The screen says Your browser does not support Java The browser crashes The error screen is thrown and contains one of the following error messages: o invokeMethod() Failed while calling OnOk o class com.documentum.web.contentxfer.ucf.UcfSessionManager$ClientException The user faces difficulty in working with uploading or checkin/checkout in Documentum.

Note: To best identify that your environment is free from UCF error, run Preferences in WebTop. If your environment has UCF issues, the Preferences page wont open up.
Supported Environment The recommended and supported OS is Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP Professional Sp1, and supported browser is Internet Explorer 6 using Java VM or Mozilla Firefox Version 1.5.0.6 and Version 1.5.0.7 or Netscape 7.2. The tool also works with IE7and Safari though not supported. Under Internet Explorer go to Tools --> Internet Options --> Advanced --> Java (Sun). Ensure the following is checked

If you don't find it checked, then check it and restart IE. 2a. Check the version of the Java Runtime Environment on your machine (Java (Sun) under Advanced Internet Options for IE). The recommended version for Documentum WebTop 6.5 SP1 is J2RE 1.5.0_12 . This can be downloaded at http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.5.0_12/index.html. If you find a JRE version above 1.6, then you have to uninstall that and replace with the recommended version. Clear the ucf folder under C:\Users\<<username>>\Documentum\ Try logging in to https://<<url>>/webtop/ 2. Other Options Install Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or above and follow Step 1. This is a Documentum supported Web Browser (Firefox 1.5.0.6 and Firefox 1.5.0.7) for Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP SP2 (32-bit version). It works well with Windows Vista too.
